How long have you been working at James and James, and what do you do here?
I joined in 2018 (in that time I took a ‘short’ one year break to have a mini-me). I help fix bugs and adds shiny new features to our complex application.
What were you up to prior to James and James?
My previous role was as a web developer in a direct debit collection company. Far less exciting than fulfilment.
Did you go to uni? If yes, which one and what did you study?
I went to uni back home in Romania - West University of Timișoara where I studied Mathematics and Informatics for my degree, and Informatics applied in science, technology, and economy during my masters.
Where were you born and raised?
Born and raised in Romania, not far from the land of Count Dracula, in a little village at the base of the Carpathian Mountains.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?
The lovely bunch of people I work with makes up for 99% of my motivation, but also the challenges that come up each day. Every day is a school day!
How would you describe your team?
Fun, united, creative, determined are just a few attributes that come to mind.
What's your funniest memory since joining the team?
Oh, there are so many, I'm surrounded by crazy beautiful people that make each day fun. It wouldn't be fair to pick one.
What advice would you give to our new starters?
Take it one step at a time. It may seem scary, but who knows it all?!
What's something most people don't know about you?
I’m a pretty religious person being a devoted Orthodox Christian.
Tea or coffee?
Coffee, coffee, and coffee. Everything seems brighter after a cup of espresso.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I’ve always wanted to visit Japan. I’m fascinated by their culture and also the technology that you can find wherever you turn.
Do you have a hidden talent?
Hmm, I know how to use a sewing machine, if that counts?
What would your superpower be and why?
Being able to clone myself on demand. I often find that I have much more to do than I have time.
What's your favourite quote?
The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from the common things.
What are you most proud of, outside of work?
My family is what makes me the proudest.
Craziest thing you've ever done?
Packed my bags and moved to the UK, all in less than a month.
What do you get up to when you're not working?
Whenever I’m not working, I’m a mum. I guess that says it all. #notenoughhands.

Most likely toys, books and crafts supplies. Toys or books for my little man and crafting bits for mummy.
